James Terrell Hosting Reel

“Our community [African Americans] has produced so many pioneers across music, film and television, and as an entertainment journalist, I think it’s my duty to take the lead in inspiring people by telling our stories from our perspective,” says James Terrell. An Entertainment Correspondent and On-Air Personality from New Orleans, after graduating from Southern University and A & M College, James began his career as a Programmer/Board Operator for Citadel Broadcasting. After quickly climbing the ranks he was named the Assistant Program Director for KQXL Q106.5 and Heaven 1460 WXOK. Since leaving Baton Rouge, James has interviewed some of Hollywood and music’s biggest stars on countless Red Carpet Premieres, National Press Junkets and Award Shows.

 In September 2019, James launched his newest venture, “The Kickback with James Terrell”.  The project includes a web-series “The Kickback with James Terrell” and his first book, “The Kickback Bible”. Since moving to New York City, James has worked as a Correspondent for TheYBF.com, one of the hottest black celebrity gossip sites on the net. The site is noted as the perfect mix of gossip, entertainment, and swagger. He’s also been featured on a number of Podcast, hosted various panels and HBCU Initiatives. 

James is an active member of the Kappa Xi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and resides in Brooklyn, NY.
